Last month I StumbledUpon   http://thisisrocksalt.com/foodie-penpals/  and completly fell in love with the idea of foodie penpals.  I emailed Carol Ann and signed up on the spot.  At the begining of the May she sent out a spreadsheet with the details of  the people you're partnered with for the month, one person to send a parcel to and a different person to receive one from.  My parcel came from the lovel Ruth who sent me all sorts of wonderful goodies.
A shoebox filled with sweet and savory treats just waiting to be sampled.

I had mentioned to Ruth that I like spicy food and am addicted to cinnamon she she baked me some snickerdoodle cookies, which are cinnamon favoured, made some spicy roasted beans which were much better than the bags I buy to snack on and sent some fresh cinnamon sticks.  I haven't used the cinnamon sticks yet but as i have a new spice grinder I will be test that on them soon.

She also sent me this tea.  I was a bit dubious about the idea of chilli flavoured tea, thinking it might be too much for even my love of spicy food too handle but it is wonderful.  The raspberry flavour is really intense and the chilli kicks in at the end just to add a spicy note to finish the drink.  i can see myself going out to buy more of this when I finish the box.

This is everything she packed into the parcel, including some chocolate that didn't last the first afternoon.  The granola nibbles were really tasty.  They only things I haven't tried yet are the mints and the spice powder but i have plans.

If month one is anything to go by this is going to be an amazingly fun group to belong too.
